Race Plus

Maximum power, maximum upwind performance and the earliest take-off.

The new Race Plus swaps the 115 Standard fuselage for the new 115 Plus fuselage.

This new fuselage shifts the front wing forwards and reduces tail wing angle to make it more aligned with the front wing, creating what we call a High Efficiency Foil Geometry (NZ Pat. App. No. 751177). With both wings flying through the water at more parallel angles, you release more speed, you get quicker acceleration and more control.

"It's like someone released the handbrake" Gonzalo Costa Hoevel, PWA Foil Champion.

The new benchmark in maximum performance foil racing. Designed to race and win.

Race Plus Carbon

Front Wing: 800

Tail Wing: 255

Fuselage: 115 Plus

Mast: Carbon 95cm

Front Wing: Saddle system

Tail Wing: Saddle system

Fuselage: Starboard Universal Connect

Mast: Deep Tuttle

Note: the 115 Plus fuselage is supplied with six angle spacers ranging from -2 degrees to +1 degree. The recommended Tail Wing Angle Spacer for the RacePlus is -1.5 degrees or -2 degrees:

-2° for wind speeds of 10+ knots (recommended default angle)

-1.5° for wind speeds of 8-9 knots

-1° for wind speeds of 7 knots

-0.5° for wind speeds of 7 knots

-0° for wind speeds of 6 knots

+1° for wind speeds of 5 knots

These suggested tail wing angles are based on the 255 tail wing and 800 front wing. Your optimum tail wing angle may differ depending on your tail wing size, your body weight, sail size, sailing style, personal preferences and front wing size.

115 Plus Fuselage

The 115 Plus fuselage is also available as a seperate upgrade item. An extreme version of the 115 Plus fuselage, known as the 115 Plus Plus fuselage, is also available as an upgrade item. With the 115 Plus Plus, the front wing is placed even further forwards and the tail wing angle needs to be reduced even more, from -2 to -4 degrees. Therefore, the -2 degree spacer needs to be used with the new -2 degreee 255 tail wing to give the total of -4 degrees. The 115 Plus Plus fuselage is recommended for pure upwind downwind races only. Contact your nearest Starboard Foil Specialist Centre for more information and availability.
